Power usage

Our hosting/housing services consist of several components. One of these components is power. As a result, power usage accounts for a significant portion of the total rate that you pay for hosting/housing services. Thanks to proactive power usage management and large-scale purchasing, we can offer you extremely competitive power rates. In the case of dedicated hosting and virtual hosting solutions, your power usage is included in the package price. In the case of colocation solutions, we only charge you for the power that you actually use.

Environmentally friendly Hosting

Environmentally friendly hosting is an increasingly popular term but what does it mean for you? And is it primarily used in a commercial sense or does it have a genuine added value for you and the environment? ReasonNet is one of the leading parties when it comes to environmentally friendly hosting in the Netherlands and beyond. Its services and products such as Private Data Suites, Dedicated Hosting and Colocation all operate in accordance with this principle of environmentally friendly hosting.

Our Gyro DC2 data centre is the first data centre in Amsterdam that complies with the EUE 2011 emissions standard. This means that we have brought the energy efficiency rating down to 1.28. In fact, there are two applicable components, namely the power usage for all equipment and the power usage for cooling this equipment. Oftentimes, around 60 percent of the energy is required for cooling, although this works differently in the case of environmentally friendly hosting. Warm air is separated from cold air by way of our self-designed cooling system. This prevents “contamination”, which means that less cooling is required. As a specialist in environmentally friendly hosting, ReasonNet has got its act together.
